Tired

The older I get, the more I value sleep. In all its forms, although I have never been able to really fall asleep just anywhere. You know the types, the ones I don't really get bothered over are the older men in church, I figure they have enough sermons banked up that they probably have heard the whole bible at one time or another. Of course they are really in prayer; at least until there head falls too far forward and they jerk awake.
Just a few weeks back we had the pleasure of attending a Boy Scout Eagle ceremony for a friend’s son. We arrived almost late so we had to sit in the back; three older folks came in just after us, two ladies and a man. The ceremony started and this one only lasted about 20 minutes, but I looked over about 10 minutes into it and all three of them were asleep. But, when we had to stand up and sing they sprung to life, like they were in "stand by mode". I just had to laugh. (not out loud, of course)
Tired is a word that can be used in many ways, tired of my job, tired of a kind of food, tired of a uniform, tired of laundry or even tired of cleaning up. I know that I get tired of a lot of things. But when I am the most tired is when the challenges come my way, the question or the need from the family the hardest is when something needs to be fixed. The one thing I try never to be tired of is my family. Sure they tire me out, but I really never want to become tired of them. Well, I'm tired - so off to bed early!

Welcome to my adventure

Thanks for stopping by to my new adventure!
This is the beginning of what I hope to be a great blog for a lot of Dads.
My goal is to inspire and encourage At-Home-Dads and Working Dads alike to improve their role as father within the family. I have been an At-Home-Homeschooling-Dad for just about 9 years now, in that time I have learned a lot about being a father and a lot about homeschooling. So join me as I share little bits of advice on how we fathers can serve our families (wives included).

For openers the definition of TeachingDad: to be taught, to teach, to learn, to listen to the Father above, the one and only perfect father.
